Educational Activities

WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSION PANELS AND MASTER CLASSES

One of the main goals of the FAE, since its creation 15 years ago, is to promote the development of the performing arts in Panama. That is why the educational activities, training and opportunities for self-assessment that the festival introduces, for local students and emergent artists include; master classes and dance workshops: discussion panels and theatre workshops, presentation of books and specialized editions, among many other events. All this offered by prestigious groups and international maestros and special guests.

BODY AWARENESS WORKSHOP

The workshop proposes to work with physical practices to stimulate the participants to perceive and understand their own bodies as complex and multifaceted entities, establish integration among participants, providing a harmonic and healthy environment, and in doing so, reduce the possibility of conflicts, improve interpersonal relations, strengthening communication and development of the creative work.

THEATRE

WORKSHOP COSTUME DESIGN FOR CREATIVITY: REUSE, RESIGNIFY, RECYCLE.

The main objective of this workshop is to introduce the advance student or professional costume designer to a different view on the use and handling of various material (many of them in disuse or discarded) be them already confectioned pieces, textiles or elements with the purpose of: reusing, re-signifying and recycling them through the design of costumes for the Performing Arts

WORKSHOP THE WORK OF THE ACTOR

INTRODUCTION TO THE MEISNER METHOD

The workshop designed by Stephen Bayly of the Actor`s Temple of London, is a series of hands-on sessions on the principles and techniques of the Meisner acting training. Actors and directors will work together to reach more real and profound interpretations. The director will become the actor to understand their process. It will also cover the evolution of acting from Stanislavski to Meisner.

THEATRE APPRECIATION WORKSHOP

The workshop is a combined series of conferences and theoretic-practical exercises of an analysis of a performance, complemented by debates dealing with the specific show (that will be seen at the beginning of the event or, in any case, before the second meeting, which may lead to a dialogue with the creative team). If possible, at the conclusion, students will write a paper using the evaluation tools learned.
